In our school curriculum we want to make sure that we aren't just teaching subjects, we are creating experts.
For example we don't just teach History, we create historians.
In order to do this, we appreciate that true depth of learning needs time to be embedded. We have though carefully about what we want the children to learn and have created time in the curriculum for content to be revisited regularly.
We have reduced the amount of learning objectives for each subject and looked at what expertise in each subject looks like at the end of each phase of learning.
We have worked with staff to identify tasks that promote an in depth basic (B) understanding of each milestone, an advanced (A) understanding of each milestone and a deep (D) understanding of each milestone.
