Physical Education

Front Lawn Primary Academy recognises the importance of Physical Education and being key to supporting children to lead a helathy lifestyle.

Keeping Healthy

It is important that you lead a healthy lifestyle.

You should have a balanced diet. The ‘Eat Well Plate’ can help you think about your diet.

The ‘Five A Day’ campaign reminds you that you should be having five portions of fruit and vegetables each day.

‘Five a day’

It is important that you drink water regularly so that you do not become dehydrated.

You should be taking plenty of exercise too!

Keeping Active

The national curriculum for physical education aims to ensure that all pupils:

  • develop competence to excel in a broad range of physical activities
  • are physically active for sustained periods of time
  • engage in competitive sports and activities
  • lead healthy active lives.

We have identified areas of physical activity that we want the children to experience again and again so that they can retrieve information realting to them easily. We call these schemas.

These are the schemas for PE ..

Whole School PE Overview

We belive it is important the children understand what it means to be a sports person.  That they look at professional sports people and see what it takes to be an expert in this field.

We share these with teh children in lessons.

We offer a wide range of sports clubs both during the school day and after school.  Click the link below for more information.

Swimming

Due to current circumstances, the teaching of swimming is not being delivered to any children.   This will be readdressed as soon as it is safe to do so.
